Nepal (MNN) — Several days of nonstop monsoon rains have triggered floods and landslides throughout India and Nepal. So far, the deluge has claimed at least 150 victims in both countries.

Southeast Asia (MNN) — One Southeast Asian country has taken a positive step towards more religious freedom. A recent decree outlined a path for religious minority groups to be recognized by the state.

Myanmar (MNN) — The United Nations will decide this week which government gets to represent Myanmar at the General Assembly. The military seized power from Myanmar’s elected officials in a February coup. But several of those officials have formed a shadow government, known as the National Unity Government.

I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Prashan De Visser to our Council of Reference. Asian Access exists to empower emerging young leaders and watching Prashan rise as a young man mentored by his father, Adrian De Visser who leads our work in Sri Lanka, to the international prominence and influence Prashan has today is so encouraging.

Prashan leads Global Unites, one of the most impactful youth movements in the world today, and his voice will help Asian Access as we look to the future and come alongside younger leaders for the future of the Church worldwide.

remembering the persecuted

Hello Everyone!

We want to thank you for your participation and support for our work in Japan.

As you probably know, all the work with the Olympics that we tried to do didn't happen. However, the last few weeks, God has done some amazing things, and that's still ongoing. People are praying. We're signing up people for a million hours of prayer! Can you believe that?

Myanmar (MNN) — On Sunday, fresh protests broke out against Myanmar’s military rule. They coincided with the anniversary of 1988 pro-democracy protests. Read more here.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has appointed a special envoy to Myanmar to deal with the post-coup violence wracking the country.

eden chen pragma

I’m pleased to welcome Eden Chen to our Council of Reference. We met a few years ago and his contribution to Asian Access has been multi-faceted. A few years in, after a few consulting opportunities, he taught for us in Taiwan as we were launching our A2.business community.

Since then, we’ve interacted several times most recently with him advising us on our Digital Platform. How timely too. Eden is a key player in the tech industry, having founded a few companies that are making a significant dent in that space.
