What a terrific time I’ve had in Mongolia! Pastor Ariunbold (pictured between Bruce Johnson and me) expanded his vision tremendously through Asian Access. Initially he simply thought about developing his own church but following the A2 experience, Ariunbold gained a greater vision for ...
My eyes have been glued to the Olympics the last week or so. The opening ceremony, Michael Phelps and Dara Torres—all have captured my imagination. The opening was a fresh reminder of what heaven will look like (Revelation 5:9): people from every tongue and tribe worshipping God in unity. What a glorious day that will be! The Olympics sort of foreshadow that for me. Before Revelation 5:9 though, we have some ...
It is so exciting to now be up and running as the president of Asian Access. My first few weeks have been inspiring as I’ve met many of our staff and partners in the US and Japan. I’m also looking forward to another upcoming trip at the end of August to Mongolia, Cambodia, Singapore and one additional country to continue meeting our team!
Networks that Multiply Churches
God is doing awesome things and it is such a joy to see what is happening. A few weeks ago. . .
A few weeks ago, I met Ken, the founder of our mission. What an amazing guy! Ken is a passionate follower of Christ who is a catalytic leader in God’s mission. What struck me more than anything was a story that arose during our conversation. When Ken began the work in Japan over 40 years ago, he asked a Japanese pastor about his vision. The pastor went on in great detail about his vision for multiplying churches around Tokyo. After sharing a good bit of time, the Japanese leader said, "I'm sorry, I've been talking all this time about my vision. Would you please tell me about your vision for the ministry?"
What a fantastic time I've had here in Japan the last couple weeks! I've traveled North to South and back again and met tons of wonderful pastors and our incredible Asian Access mission family. It’s been totally awesome! God is doing great things across the country; things that I had no idea were going on. . .
I thought it would be neat to share a quick video log from Japan on day 5 of my first trip here.
Don't expect a lot of video logs for my blog entries, but I hope to post some video clips every once in a while. Thanks for praying for me and my family during my trip. I'm having a blast!
Joe Handley | My bioJoe joined Asian Access as president in 2008 and has logged many miles traveling across the Asian continent. One thing he has learned is to platform other leaders.
