“This is the best program I have ever participated in.”
While I was certainly glad to hear this, I was intrigued by the passion behind his words. Pastor Dilesh Kumar leads Jeevan Jyoti (Light of the World) church in Indore, a city in Western India. He is part of the current North India cohort participating in Asian Access’ leadership development program. We were chatting at dinner when his thoughts on A2’s program began to surface.
“Thank you for your kind words, Pastor,” I replied. “Can I ask you why you consider the program so helpful?” “That is easy,” he replied. “It is practical. The A2 coordinators are all active pastors. They minister in the real world, just like I do. So the content we cover connects with the opportunities and problems I face in real life, rather than just being abstract theory.”
Pastor Kumar speaks truly. Asian Access’ commitment is to offer training by real-world leaders, for real-world leaders. From A2’s national directors to regional coordinators to local facilitators to guest faculty, everyone involved has real ministry experience. This enables A2’s program to speak effectively into the practical issues faced by the pastors and leaders who join A2’s training cohorts.
“Your support is encouraging, Pastor,” I replied. “So you would recommend A2’s program to other leaders?” He smiled. “After five years in the field, every pastor should do this program.” *
Nuff said. I appreciate Pastor Kumar’s ringing endorsement of A2’s program—and for your prayers and support for the ongoing work of A2, in India and throughout Asia.
* P.S. - Pastor Kumar recently posted on our Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/AsianAccess ) . . . "A2 is a must for every Christian leader."
