Asian Access is releasing a brand new series today called, Eastern Voices: Insight, Perspective, and Vision from Kingdom Leaders in Asia In Their Own Words.

becchetti noel headshot 2016 300pxNoel Becchetti, VP for Leader Development at Asian Access served as editor of the compilation of 14 stories from 15 different Asian authors. In his introduction, Becchetti writes:

"It's time to hear the voices. The voices have actually been with us for years—brothers and sisters whom God has raised up to lead His Church and spread His Gospel in their home countries. Men and women of faith, courage, and vision. They have lived much, seen much, done much, learned much. And they have much to share."

takazawa takeshi headshot 2016 300pxThe concept is the brainchild of Takeshi Takazawa who has long felt that leaders in the West could benefit to hear the voices from his continent. His desire is to create dialogue between the Eastern Church and the Western Church:

"I want Eastern Voices to communicate our image, our expression—how God inspired us to express the global universal Church in each of the situations. We would like to dialogue so that we understand God's heart together. So I'm not saying that this Eastern voices is a replacement of Western motif. We need both... North, South, West and East. So I'm very excited that this book will be a small attempt, but it will help us to understand God's global vision for the Church and His mission."

What are others saying?

"Some of the sharpest thinkers in the world church are doing grassroots ministry in eastern nations. As their countries cannot afford specialist writers, their insights are often lost to the church worldwide. This is a shame because the church would be greatly enriched by their insights.

I am so glad for this book, which is introducing to a wider audience the thinking and experiences of some of our outstanding leaders."

Ajith Fernando
Teaching Director, Youth for Christ, Sri Lanka

Eastern Voices takes us into the classroom of experienced, godly Christian leaders as they address issues that we in the Western world might not understand. Some write about ministry in ‘saving face’ shame-based cultures. Others address the need to discard Western cultural baggage associated with the gospel in an effort to speak to their cultural/religious neighbors. Oppressed leaders write about leading in places where Christianity is a discriminated-against minority religion. Wise pastors discuss realities of spiritual warfare, team leadership, biblical understanding, and loving enemies. This first of many anticipated volumes is a library of training for people serving in Asia.

The book asks the question, ‘Can you hear the voices?’ I strongly encourage any Christian leader interested in or burdened for Asia to sit, read Eastern Voices, and listen carefully.”
