Background Information:

Jason has been a Christian since 1985. He participated in a short-term mission to Japan with Youth With A Mission. He's been married since 1989 to an awesome woman and has four great kids. He has a Master's in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and has been a full-time professional pastor since 1989.

Ministry Assignment:

Jason has served as Staff Accountant with Asian Access since 2004. He also is an integral member of the team coordinating Church Planting Associates, helping with screening applicants, as well as leading worship and devotionals for their orientation. In addition, Jason is a contributor to some A2 communications projects. Outside of Asian Access, Jason is a wedding videographer with inFocus Video Productions, and he is currently co-pastoring a small missional community that meets in members' homes.

Words of wisdom...

My suggestion is learn how to develop an incarnational lifestyle. Embodying the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 3:19; 4:13; Colossians 1:28; 2:9-10; 2Peter 1:3-8) takes serious time and effort to develop. Yet it is the core of both being an apprentice of Christ and being missional to the world whether one is home or abroad.

When you're in Japan, be sure to...

• be a humble learner.

Hoping for "ultimate contributions"...

To learn to embody, demonstrate and announce God's fullness and kingdom in my life so everyone around me has a "coming attraction" of God's new creation.

Ministry with meaning...

• Learning to tell stories.
• Practicing spiritual disciplines from various Christian traditions.
• Being in an authentic Christian community
• Engaging in simple acts of love and justice with others.

Lessons I've learned...

I have learned, like Job, that whether God gives and takes away, he is worthy of worship. I've also learned from others that it is truly possible to become by grace what Jesus is by nature.

How God is blessing our life and ministry...

We're watching God bless our life with his presence and faithfulness.
