Why am I serving with Asian Access?

I am serving with Asian Access because of its emphasis on servant-leadership and its strategic importance in world evangelization. |
Background Info:
I was born and raised in New York. Coming from two generations of churchplanters, one can say I was born to do ministry, however it wasn't obvious to me in my younger years. I graduated with a bachelor and masters degree in history and went on to teach high school in NY for a few years. Finally heeding God's call to ministry, I began my studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Massachusetts, USA) in 2001 and completed my M.Div. focused on world missions in 2004.
Ministry Assignment:
Sandi has been with Asian Access since 2004, serving as Executive Assistant to the President.
Words of wisdom...
- Pray, pray, pray! Hide God's word in your heart. This will be your ballast and your anchor.
- Surround yourself with godly friends and mentors who are committed to regularly pray with you and for you: not only will they strengthen you, encourage you, and help you keep your eyes on Christ, they will also have the courage tell you want you don't want to hear but what you definitely do need to hear.
- Say "yes!" to God no matter how radical it may seem or how large a leap of faith it will require. It'll be the best decision and adventure you'll ever take with him in your life.
Funny missionary story…
I think God made me for missions since I'm travel-sized (at 4'10") and I tend to be mistaken for a native wherever I've gone on missions. When I was in Micronesia, the Micronesians thought I was Micronesian; when I was in India, the Indians thought I was Indian; when I was in Thailand, the Thai thought I was Thai; and when I was in Japan, the Japanese thought I was Japanese. BUT when I was in America (at Gordon-Conwell) the Koreans thought I was Latin American!
Ways God has blessed life and ministry:
God has used my time with A2 to deepen my faith in HIS faithfulness and to also deepen my relationships (and create new ones) in the body -- with my family, the local church, and around the world. Stepping out in faith to serve with the President for the Lausanne Committee has connected me with people and experiences that have enriched and deepened my horizons, my understanding of cross-cultural leadership and the global church, and the need to continue pressing on in the work of world evangelization.
I'd like to network with people interested in…
Cross-cultural leadership, organizational psychology, and research in global Christianity.
