The Time Has Come

SAPPORO, JAPAN

Rev. Hiroshi Kawasaki [National Director, Asian Access/Japan] and I met with the pastoring couple of a cell church in Sapporo to discuss the formation of our next church multiplication network in Hokkaido. This church was planted thirty years ago and transitioned to cell groups through Asian Access 11 years ago. This couple is very interested in not just being a part of the network but even playing a leadership role. The pastor shared, 'I've heard Pastor Kawasaki talk about these Church Multiplication networks for years. But we have been pouring all our energy into developing cells locally. But now, the time has come to move forward with Asian Access to develop a CM network!"

Background Info
Tim joined Asian Access and moved to Tokyo in 1990. He has served in Japan and the US in church planting, mobilization and short-term ministry leadership. He relocated to northern Japan in 2002.
Wakako's sister introduced Wakako to Christ in 2001 and to Tim in 2007. Wakako and Tim were married in January, 2008. They now have two sons. Makoto Arthur was born in June of 2009 and joined Tim and Wakako through adoption five months later. Wakako gave birth to Hiroki Andrew in September, 2010.
Ministry Assignment
Tim and Wakako Clark seek to encourage Japanese pastors through listening and prayer, to help churches grow in fruitfulness of outreach, and to share Christ boldly with many friends and family members. They desire to make a lasting difference in a country where more than 99% of the people do not yet know Christ, where spiritual indifference and resistance are common.
Tim and Wakako Clark work with six churches in an Asian Access-led Church Multiplication Network. They also serve as Alpha Course Advisors, helping churches grow in their capacity to warmly welcome seekers and lead many to Christ.
In partnership with their primary church, Grace Community in Sapporo, the Clarks are translating and developing Alpha-related Family Life Ministries such as the Marriage Course, the Divorce and Separation Recovery Course and someday soon, the Parenting Course and Parenting Teens Course. The Clarks are working with Grace Community to introduce these courses to churches throughout Japan. Their desire is not simply to start programs to strengthen families but also to create opportunities for many Japanese to deeply experience God's redeeming, transforming power.
