Bio: Tim & Wakako Clark

Background Info

Tim Clark joined Asian Access and moved to Tokyo in 1990. He has served in Japan and the US in church planting, mobilization and short-term ministry leadership. He relocated to northern Japan in 2002.

Wakako's sister introduced Wakako to Christ in 2001 and to Tim in 2007. Wakako and Tim were married in January, 2008. They now have two sons, born in 2009 and 2010.

Ministry Assignment

Tim and Wakako Clark are equipping churches throughout Japan to reach whole families through their role as Relationship Central Coordinators with Alpha Japan. They seek to expand the capacity of the Church of Japan to reach whole families for Christ and to deeply influence society through Alpha's parenting and marriage courses.

The Clarks also work with Fuchinobe Community Church which launched in 2010. The Clarks' dream is that their community will become 3-4% Christian despite the well-known fact that Japan is a nation where fewer than 1% believe in Jesus Christ.

One shared with me that he and his wife were looking for help and...

Very quickly Pastor Koyama realized the church couldn't lead this couple to Christ without addressing their marriage crisis. So he started running The Marriage Course from...

I am a little embarrassed to admit it, but when I was in high school my friends and I would plan how to find boyfriends in time for Christmas. We never really succeeded. I laugh about it now but at that time we were very serious about who to spend the holiday with and how we might find him...

Grace Community Church 1The JCGI Network of Asian Access hosted its annual conference November 24-26, 2009 with Dr. Robert E. Logan returning to Japan to speak. Grace Community sent a delegation of pastors and lay leaders from Sapporo to hear Dr. Logan; here's a report from Asian Access staff member Tim Clark on how the church was blessed by the conference.

Since coming home from the Asian Access JCGI anniversary celebration it's been fun to see the conference's impact unfold at Grace Community, helping this church that already does so well at leader development do even more. Dr. Bob Logan's teaching in ...
