It's been an adventure serving as President of Asian Access. In this blog, I'm sharing stories from around the A2 community that will hopefully encourage you to be involved in this ministry.

Nancy Weigel has served with Asian Access for 11 years, helping to recruit and train short-term workers for Japan. She has participated in 8 mission trips herself, in the Philippines, U.K., and Japan. She also teaches part-time at Pasadena City College, and is involved in ministry to international students.

Nozomi Imanishi has been serving as a Church Planting Associate with Asian Access since 2000. She has worked in Yamagata, Osaka and currently is in Okinawa.

Sue Takamoto is a leader of leaders and currently serves with husband Eric as the Team Leader of the Kansai Church Planting Network with Asian Access. She has worked in a variety of roles with the mission since 1990, both in the U.S. office and Japan. Sue earned her Ph.D. in Leader Development under Dr. Bobby Clinton at Fuller Theological Seminary. Together Eric and Sue have four adorable kids.

Elliott is currently the Vice President of Operations for Asian Access. He has been working with A2 for 25 years and is currently assigned to the headquarters office in Los Angeles. Elliott and his wife, Lori, met in Japan while both serving with Asian Access as short-term missionaries.

Tim Clark serves in northern Japan, helping lead the Church Multiplication Network Asian Access has in Sapporo, Japan's fifth largest city. He also serves as an Alpha Advisor, working with congregations that want to more effectively welcome new people to church and to faith. Tim is from Portland, OR and has also lived in southern California and the Tokyo area. He hopes to someday become published, pass the top level of the Japanese Proficiency Exam and run a 5K in under 20 minutes.

Craig Chapin is an Asian Access missionary. He works with Christ Bible Institute, training a new generation of leaders for the church in Japan. He and Yumiko, his wife, live between Nagoya, Japan's fourth-largest city, and Toyota, where all those cars come from.

Chinzorig Jigjidsuren is the founding overseer of Immanuel Assembly of Mongolia. He lives with his wife and three children in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar.

Michael and his wife foment church multiplication in Okinawa and other Asian contexts. They helped start a church in Tokyo and another in Okinawa. Currently they work with 6 Japanese churches in Okinawa to develop new reproducing churches.

Mission Network News is a news service dedicated to keeping Christians informed on evangelical mission activity around the world in order to educate and motivate Christians to prayer, participation, and support of missionary work to help further the Great Commission. MNN broadcasts its stories on over 1,000 radio stations worldwide.

Jeff Johnston, who first went to Japan as a missionary with Asian Access in 1987, is currently serving as Vice President for Communications. He directs all A2 communications projects including four websites, five blogs, and print materials, as well as serves as the primary writer, photographer and video producer for Asian Access. Jeff is married to Nozomi and they have 2 cool kids, Zack and Ellie. Together they are church planting missionaries in Tokyo. Lots more at: www.johnstonjournal.com.

Bruce Johnson is in the process of being appointed as U.S. Director of SIM, International. He has been the VP for Leadership Development at Asian Access since 2004. He oversees the implementation of the Asian Access leadership development model across Asia. Recently, Bruce served as Interim President until June 2008.

Peter Thomson first went to Japan in 1986, and he's been working with Asian Access pretty much ever since. He currently serves as Director of Japan Missionary Personnel in Osaka, along with wife Wendi and their four kids.

Loren is a member of the A2-Com creative team and lead designer of the main A2 Community blog template, as well as the entire AsianAccess.org site. In addition, he has designed all of the Asian Access print materials and most of the A2 video clips you see on this site.
