Pastor JE on Church Multiplication
This week, you’ll hear from Pastor JE again as he shares about Asian Access in Southern India. As you know, we have a passion for church multiplication and Jeyakaran shares how the ministry has impacted his own life in this arena. He started in ministry as a church planter who multiplied his church but overtime lost momentum for starting new churches. Listen to his video below and see how Asian Access helped re-ignite his original vision.

Hi I’m [Pastor] Jeyakaran from Chennai in South India, pastor of Power House Church based in Chennai that I have been pastoring for the last 13 years. I’ve been associated with Asian Access for a little over one year. I’m also a student of the first class, going through the class myself.
I want to share what this program has done for me personally. The words “church multiplication” has had a great impact on me. Having planted the church 13 years ago we planted one more church about six years ago and then we became very stagnant. The vision for church planting and multiplication really subsided in my church ministry. But as I joined Asian Access and the words church multiplication was constantly coming I felt God was launching me into this new season to start looking at planting more churches. So just one year after having joined this class of Asian Access, from two churches, we have planted three more churches so in this last year we have seen an exciting development of having multiplied our congregation in three different locations in the city and so personally for me, this program has been a great encouragement as I’ve had leaders come and share about church multiplication and I’ve seen that happening and I’m very excited and affirmed and greatly encouraged that this program is doing a lot of personal benefit for me.
I also want to share a couple of stories about other classmates. One of the pastors, he had a great vision to build a big mega-church in the city. Mega-churches are well known in the city of Chennai and every pastor aspires to build a big mega-church. But as he came into this program and one of the teachings that has strongly challenged and impacted him is the idea of mentoring other leaders and investing your life into a few other leaders whom you develop and release so that God can use them to plant churches. This is something he has never thought of because it has always been about himself and building his own kingdom and a big mega-church. But this new teaching and emphasis has brought a new paradigm shift in his thinking and so he has chosen three leaders in his congregation whom he has begun to invest himself in and multiply himself in them and now his vision is beyond just a mega-church. He wants to think of church planting and this is a great paradigm shift and perhaps it will be a great model for other pastors in our city.
We are being equipped to plant churches to see leaders develop and the vision of planting churches across South India. I believe the day will come when all of us having gone through this Asian Access class will one day serve as faculty and resource people and our vision is to see in perhaps the next 10 or 20 years many more classes start and even in regional languages across South India because you’re talking about 300 million people and there are already about 6,000 churches in South India alone. So there is a great need to impact these pastors with Kingdom values, character and competence and vision to see a whole new generation reached in our nation of Christ-like leadership emerge.
I am so grateful that Asian Access has started this program in South India and I’m privileged to be part of it and I really want to thank all of you who have been praying faithfully and giving generously into the ministry of Asian Access because your praying and giving is making such a great difference in the life of us pastors. I know that this is an eternal investment and I really want to thank you on behalf of the South India class of Asian Access for your support and encouragement to us through your partnership with Asian Access.
